“RIVER” music video hits 500K-view mark on YouTube
The hype is well and alive for MNL48’s sixth single “RIVER” as its official music video has already surpassed 500,000 views on YouTube earlier today.
Fans raved and celebrated as the milestone was reached around 6:05 PM Manila time, just a week after the music video’s premiere last November 27.
With this latest development, “RIVER” is well on track to be the fastest MNL48 music video to hit 1,000,000 views on YouTube. The idol group's second single “Pag-Ibig Fortune Cookie” music video still holds the record as it reached the eight-digit mark in just 63 days after its premiere last November 2018.
As of 9:00 PM today, “RIVER” has also garnered 34,000 likes, tying with “Ikaw ang Melody” and “365 Araw ng Eroplanong Papel” as the fourth most-liked MNL48 music video and 42,411 comments. Famous personalities like cosplayer and gamer Alodia Gosiengfiao and author Marcelo Santos have expressed their appreciation about the music video’s production through their comments.
This week also saw “RIVER” surging in the MYX Daily Top 10 chart, ranking third as of today. It is currently the highest-ranked local track in the chart, only being held from the top spot by South Korean male group BTS with their smash hits “Dynamite” and “Life Goes On" occupying the top two ranks. It is also expected to enter the music channel’s Hit Chart and Pinoy Countdown that will come out this weekend.
